Earlier this summer, with the help of some friends, my wife and I launched a high altitude balloon to near space, shooting up to 90,000 feet. My inspiration for taking on such a lofty endeavor was this: My mother passed away unexpectedly in February. She had always been my biggest fan and supported me in all of my artistic ventures – including the start-up of Cop A Squat Toys. I wanted to do something truly incredible to commemorate and honor her memory. Without my mom, none of this would’ve been possible and I guess I just wanted to thank her in my own way… We even had the toy casted in her favorite color!!
Our balloon project launched with a payload, attached to two high definition cameras. One of the cameras took still photos, while the other was filming the journey… up, up, and away!! The video footage was all shot facing our NYCC exclusive toy!! That’s right, we sent one of these little fellas nearly to space!!! You’ll definitely want to get your hands on this one of a kind, SK…
Here is the link to the more than 3000 photos taken of the journey
I would like to thank Clutter Magazine for being gracious enough for having us at their booth.
